Open House New York 2019 – Sunday, October 20: Once again The Friends of Maple Grove participated in Open House New York 2019 and had two large groups for walking tours that met at 10 AM and at 2 PM. There were 30 people who registered for each tour. This was by far the largest group. Helen was there to assist, and it went extremely well even with the rain that stated as the second tour began and stayed with us the entire time. Both tours started at the Victorian Building with a tour of the building. It continued with a walk through the cemetery with stops at many important architectural monuments! We also visited the rarely opened Receiving Tomb which people enjoyed walking into! We finally arrived at the Center for another building tour and a Wine and Cheese Reception. Eric was kind enough to meet us at the Art Gallery to discuss his paintings for both tours! After we rested, we continued the tour and ended it back at the Victorian Building. The comments and reaction to all that they saw was extremely positive and we received wonderful emails from the OHNY volunteers! The volunteers were very helpful in checking everyone in from the registration list and provided excellent crowd control. It started at 4 PM.
