Friends of Maple Grove presented its first International Music Concert on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
On August 16 we held our first International Music Concert at Celebration Hall in the Maple Grove Center.
The two bands that performed were "Agoci" a Haitian Band and "La Rebellion" a Dominican Band.
They were both extremely talented performers and had some members of the audience out of their seats dancing in the aisles. The concert was designed to honor the cultural diversity found at Maple Grove Cemetery. We also honored the great Haitian Artist Edouard Wah who is buried at Maple Grove. A beautiful painting by Edouard Wah was put on display for those at the concert to view. It was borrowed by the Rancy Family. There was a variety of food including some from the Tonel Restaurant. Two huge punch bowls had been set up. One with a sweet Pina Colada Punch and the other a wonderful Fruit Punch. It was a wonderful time for all those who gathered.
