Summer Science Workshops for Children Pond Ecology, Endangered Animals, and Animals Alive Saturdays, June 22, June 29, and July 6 3:00 PM
Pond Ecology was our first of three Science Workshops for this year of 2013 and Miss Venus Hall was our APEC (Alley Pond Environmental Center) instructor.
This marks our fourth year anniversary with this program that honors all the great Scientific Minds at Maple Grove. We had a lively group of young people along with their parents. There were a number of hands-on art projects and live animals that peaked the curiosity of everyone who attended. A wonderful blend of Art and Science!
Children attending the Science Workshops are also awarded Certificates of Completion which can be used as extra science credit at participating schools.
The Pond Ecology workshop took place outdoors by the Maple Grove Lake. Special thanks to volunteers Helen Day and Gavriel Maman for their assistance.
The following Science Workshops also held for this year were Endangered Animals and Animals Alive which took place inside the Center at Maple Grove.
All four years of our Summer Science Program was made possible through a grant from The Josephine Foundation.
