Summer 2012 Jazz Concert Featuring Jazz Vocalist Barbara Rosene Let Your Spirits Swing! Saturday, July 21, 8:00 PM
The Summer 2012 Jazz Concert was a great success! Barbara Rosene was absolutely wonderful as was the band of talented musicians. Barbara Rosene, (www.barbararosene.com) vocalist and specialist of 1920's–1930's Jazz music, honored the musical treasures of those musicians who are now interred at Maple Grove such as: Jimmy Rushing, LaVerne Baker, Vincent Youmans, Tony Sbarbaro, Theresa Merritt, George Washington Johnson, and many others. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Andrew Joseph Koslosky. Bonnie, our hostess, created a spread of delicious treats that feed all with a hearty smile. Thanks to our volunteers Lisa, Helen, Andrea, Judy, Carol, and Paul, everything went so smoothly! Last year Barbara Rosen was given a copy of the Maple Grove Book which she used to study and research the great musical talents we care for at Maple Grove. She truly made the night special when she sang some of their songs that made them famous. It was a wonderful event and some new Friends members joined us!
